Description

The implementation of Apache Solr replaces the database-integrated full-text search that is integrated in Drupal. Apache Solr is clearly superior in quality, convenience and speed to the database-integrated full-text search of Drupal. However, the current version on drupal.org recognizes the English-speaking world only.

The missing features for localization have already been added to our version of the module. That means that in our edition of the module Apache Solr is able to serve other languages in regard to stemming, stop word lists, synonyms, and date formats. It is also able to correctly display multi-lingual taxonomies as facets. The localization-opportunities that are available are preconfigured for German-speaking countries.
As you can see from the links in the feature list below it is our ambition to integrate all our extensions into the original version of the module at drupal.org. We think that the extensions for German-speaking countries are essential. For this reason we do not refer to an early developer version at drupal.org but already provide these extensions for a stable version of Apache Solr now.

Until release 6.x-1.0-rc3 the original version on drupal.org for example missed the support for hierarchical facets that was co-developed by us. In our version of the module it has long been integrated. Furthermore it is needed for the implementation of a forum search. Ever since version 6.x-1.0-rc4 this extension has been included by default in Apache Solr.
